[좋은아침] 세계 3대 게임쇼 중 하나로 불리는 게임스컴이 오는 2024년, 브라질 상파울루에서 개최된다.
독일 쾰른에서 개최되는 본 행사와 별개로 전세계의 다양한 지역으로 그 개최 범위를 넓혀가고 있는 게임스컴은 이번에 새롭게 공개된 라탐을 통해 중남미 최대 규모의 게임 축제로 빠르게 성장시키겠다는 계획을 밝혔다.
라탐은 2024년 6월 26일부터 30일까지 브라질 상파울루의 이비라푸에라 컨벤션 센터에서 개최될 예정이다. 게임스컴을 주최하는 쾰른메세는 라탐이 독일에서 개최되는 전통적인 행사와 싱가포르에서 개최되는 게임스컴 아시아의 형식을 합친 복합적인 형태의 행사가 될 것이라고 소개했다.
라탐은 2024년부터 새롭게 전개되는 행사이지만, 게임스컴 측은 라탐을 중남미 최대 규모의 게임 축제로 빠르게 성장시키기 위해 ‘BIG 페스티벌’과 합병할 것이라는 계획을 함께 전했다. BIG 페스티벌은 기존 중남미 지역을 대표하는 게임 행사로, 지난 2023년 행사에서 약 5만 명 이상의 참관객이 방문한 것으로 알려졌다.
쾰른메세의 제랄드 뵈스(Gerald Böse) CEO는 “게임스컴 라탐은 원래 행사와 경쟁하는 경쟁자가 아닌, 이상적인 추가 요소가 될 것”이라며, “브라질과 중남미 시장은 흥미로운 신흥 시장이며, 전 세계에서 온 많은 참관객들이 함께 할 수 있는 강력한 게임 행사가 될 것”이라는 기대감을 전했다.
